Putting It All Together

Your fireplace components

Installing your new fireplace and cabinet combination is easier than you may think. The hard part may be narrowing down your many customized options available. Here is how a typical Vermont Castings fireplace and cabinet mantel could be put together:

  1. The Base and Hearth are part of the cabinet kit and placed against the wall area first.
  2. The "Firebox" shown with optional brick lining is then placed on top of the hearth
  3. The chosen Cabinet Mantel is then assembled and placed around the Firebox.
  4. The fireplace is then accessorized with assembled customized trims available in Pewter, Polished Brass, Antique Brass and Black.

Choosing the Size of Your Cabinet Mantel

The size of your cabinet mantel is determined by the size required to accommodate the firebox you have chosen. The size of the Firebox will be determined by the size of the room, and the supplemental heat source desired.

Use the brochure to determine dimensions and specifications of each cabinet, and be sure to check around your area of installation for light switches and electric plugs that may potentially be covered by the cabinet.

Installation

All Vermont Castings cabinets come in a kit complete with easy to read instructions and all necessary hardware. They have been designed for easy installation. However, individual home situations can present situations that we cannot anticipate, and in this event we advise that consumers contact one of our registered dealers for installation, as they will have both the experience and the tools and trims necessary to address these occasional site problems.
